A story about magic aliens, curses, and friendship
All is set within an Existence where all that exists can be classified in one of three types: matera, born of space and immune to its changes, but extremely transient; spirise, born of time and immune to its passage, but unable to survive in different spaces; or denomis, born of time and space, immune to the trials of both, envied by spirisei and rejected by matera. All that is born of space is born of magic, a type of magic bound at birth to one's parents' or birth place's type - a being born in a water-born world will likely be a water-born, a being born of shapeshifter-born parents will likely be a shapeshifter-born, and so on.
At the start of Existence, primordial spirisei and denomis roamed loosely in space. They would settle where planets were forming, and watch over the developing masses, seeding life simply by existing. They were connected to other spirisei or denomise through telepathic connections that would deteriorate with time, isolating them to their worlds, but while this link existed they developed the two basic languages that still exist in spirise and denomise worlds to this day - Spirise and Denomisa
Matera worlds largely live isolated from denomis and spirise worlds, with a few exceptions: colonies, often built in worlds bordering denomis territories; space cities, which are home to denomise and matera alike; and the Good Hunters (self entitled, usually refered to by outsiders as Evil Hunters), a now mostly extinct terrorist organization that believed denomise were cursed and tainting worlds that should belong to matera.
Denomis worlds are less numerous than spirise and matera, as denomise tend to coexist with the other types more often than build their own worlds.
Spirise worlds are extremely insular, and rarely reach out to other worlds due to their fragile nature. Due to their long lives spirisei tend to value tradition, and their worlds reflect this - it is very common for spirise worlds to be monarchies, aristocracies or senatorial democracies.
